Earth has a memory older than time…...she has greeted the many beautiful creatures that have shared her as their home and Earth has also farewelled many who have left and travelled to realms beyond her dimension...

With great fondness she remembers the Dragons. Like the haunting music of the whale song, the dragon's gentle voices filled her skies and vibrated through her earth and her seas….their playful chirps and whistles would skip through the air as they encountered friends and family in excitement…re-uniting bonds that were centuries old…..their wings would silently cast great cooling shadows over her forests and deserts…or slice their way through her deep crystal waters…

The Dragons enjoyed the beauty of each of Earth's surfaces, her elements. Earth, Air, Water and Fire..and Earth enjoyed them being there...

But now the dragons have gone from Earth's physical plains….she feels them only in memory…….the Dragons so majestic and intelligent, lead by great matriarchs, families enjoyed safe and happy lives, loyalty compassion and companionship helped them navigate their existence throughout the centuries….sharing Earth with respect and love, like majestic guardians protecting all life on Earth...

Now Earth is seeing many beautiful creatures who live within her mantle becoming tired and hunted, grieving for the homes they have known for centuries. The forests that Earth wears are becoming stripped bare and ravaged, her water's polluted and her air poisoned. Earth feels the pain of thousands of creatures crying out in fear and sadness as they are slaughtered and their children stolen and there homes destroyed…and she wishes the Dragons would return to cleanse the world of all this pain...

These Dragons are here to contribute to the welfare of all the animals now being assisted through the ethical and compassionate work of many people across the globe.. they are each created individually, like the elephants and orangutans, the bears and the tigers..like all of the creatures we share our world with.

The profit from the sale of each Dragon is donated by the Artist, to a sanctuary or haven or centre where work is being done to conserve, protect, rehabilitate or provide for the welfare of the many animals currently impacted upon by humans and their actions
.

The history of Dragons

Dragon’s  live in family groups, with a dominant matriarch, they are fiercely protective of their young and allow the males to live among them until they are mature enough to join the bachelor clans that roam together and have their own hierarchy of rules and respect within, learning their strengths and listening to the knowledge shared by the senior bulls. The females stay within their family groups for life, they become sisters, mothers and aunties and they enjoy the company of males when they gather together at  the great water sources across the land. They enjoy the company of other families sometimes exchanging their groups to spend time with other families, there is no hostility between any of the dragon families and all enjoy the sense of celebration when they meet.  They are deeply loyal to their families and their extended communities.
All Dragons adore their young and each member of a family will care for the young  collectively as aunties, uncles and baby sitters.  Although they hatch from eggs their Mother will feed them milk for the first 2 years of their lives while also introducing vegetation into their diet. Dragons only have 1 egg at a time and will often not breed again for another 4 years until the baby is old enough to be independent  and require less attention..
A Dragon is born with soft , wrinkly skin and gradually develops its scales as it matures, loosing the wrinkles and excess skin. . During this growth the wings will evolve and fins, crowns and decorative a veneer develops, each one unique to the individual and may change colours many times during the Dragons life….influenced by atmosphere, diet, age and emotional condition.
As a Dragon matures they will start to grow glorious “stones” upon their bodies, often appearing to be jewelled, the older the Dragon the greater it’s adornments…..these jewels are created by tiny creatures that live on the surface of the Dragons skin, their “stone” homes  grow as they grow, like barnacles on a ship, they live of off the dragon’s shedding skin, the tiny scale surfaces that shed every day…these “stones” are brighter than diamonds and stronger than steel, yet as light as aluminum. Precious and stunning to all who beheld their beauty..even the peacock would bow down in awe and respect of the Dragons resplendence.
Although Dragons are varied in size and habitat they generally exhibit  similar emotional and social traits ….a content dragon will often “glow”  displaying their Aura….some even start to hum a gentle vibration that clears the mind and charges the air with an energy often likened to feeling “loved” All that are within this energy field are healed and revitalized by its energy.

Contrary to popular belief Dragons are herbivores, they graise on plant life and have a metabolism that enables them to convert any plant matter into a nutritional substance suitable to them. This has been the advantage that has allowed them to live anywhere they choose and also has helped prevent any over graising . All Dragons are capable of adapting to all of the temperatures of Earth and live comfortably in any degree of heat or cold. They are able to monitor their core body heat and change it when necessary

Dragons are highly intelligent, they share their knowledge with all the earths creatures and have enormous compassion that many species have benefited from.
Because of the immense size of them, they have been able to assist with the creating of dams for animals during droughts, they have lifted entire colonies of primates to areas where food sources are plentiful and have rescued many animals during floods and fires..

All Dragons have the sacred power to be able to move within the dimensions of time and reality, they are among us still but most humans have lost the ability to truly “see” and so the Dragons go unnoticed, like ghosts or something you may catch out of the corner of your eye..
Though sometimes one may feel their ‘Hum” and suddenly enjoy a  sense of well being and connectedness. Those few who have been privileged to view the beauty of the Dragon have considered it good-luck. Over the centuries the Dragons have witnessed much change to the Earth and are concerned by the human disregard for life and environment, the Dragon’s  sympathise with the animals who  are struggling to survive under the impact of human populations, who cry out in fear and pain but are not heard by the humans. Even now, when they are able, although not seen, except by the animals,  the Dragons will bring the rains after much drought and “cloak” the animals when they under threat of violence from humans..

Dragons have in fact acted as Earth’s guardians for centuries and are connected to every living thing. Dragon’s can  live for up to 400 years and their knowledge passes genetically through to each new generation. It is now known to be shared inter-species by the Dragons in order to assist with the survival and welfare of all animals.
With great fondness Earth remembers the Dragons. Like the haunting music of the whale song, the dragon’s gentle voices filled her skies and vibrated through her earth and her seas….their playful chirps and whistles would skip through the air as they encountered friends and family in excitement…re-uniting bonds that were centuries old…..their wings would silently cast great cooling shadows over her forests and deserts…or slice their way through her deep crystal waters…
The Dragons  enjoyed the beauty of each of Earth’s surfaces,  her elements. Earth, Air, Water and Fire..and Earth enjoyed them being there..

Perhaps those most like Dragons in their social structure is the elephants. Large groups of elephants have been witnessed  suddenly becoming motionless, even the babies, for up to a 2minutes, facing a direction and “listening” to the vibrations they receive through the air and the ground. Not only is this the communicating of elephants but also of dragons to the elephants…..a language older than humanity and it is far reaching, connecting with all life on Earth..

Dragons and humans

Dragons and humans have lived together on this Earth for hundreds of years, sharing the lands and enjoying each others company. The Dragons “spoke” to
the humans teaching them many things of importance including the power of love and loyalty and respect for all life.
Many people adored the Dragons and chose to live near them for company and protection, as did injured animals and older animals like the ancient Elephant bulls and elderly Rhino’s. Living with the Dragon families meant  old animals, birds and fish could live their old age quietly, dieing naturally without fear. The Dragons often buried them, as they did their own, and would stand quietly over these graves whenever they visited the area.
When  a Dragon dies, his “stones” will shed and were often collected as goodluck by the humans living with them.
But their came a time when some people stopped listening to the Dragons, they stopped feeling the energy of the Earth they lived upon and relied upon and they stopped loving and respecting their companions upon the Earth.

It was a sad time of fear when this happened because although many fought to protect the Dragons and other animals they loved and respected, there were those who chose to hunt them, for their fur, or their ivory or their precious “stones”. Many died, were captured for entertainment or were stolen as children from their families. The “Dragons” voice tried to penetrate this ugliness by beseeching the humans, but the ugliness remained.
The Earth felt it  getting stronger within the people who had lost their way and eventually ..although many cried….the Dragons left. They took many animals with them to a safer realm, where humans have not chosen aggression and power as their way. The few Dragons who could not bare to leave their friends both human and animal behind, eventually died form grief and loneliness or  were hidden in isolated areas where they would be safe but always hunted….and their pain and suffering was wept over by the people and animals who loved them..
The Dragons and all animals had, and have, chosen to be with humanity as it evolves, to share in its enlightenment and enjoy the welfare of all, they do not need to be captured or controlled, they simply ask for space of their own to be who they are and to show us the joys of just being…maybe one day when humans return to “peace” the Dragons will also return.

Dragons come in all shapes and sizes!!

Elemental-

The Elemental dragon, certainly the largest of all the dragons, they can grow as big as modern day airplanes and have enormous wing spans. The Elemental has the ability to adapt to all earths environments, Air, Earth, Water and can live comfortably in either habitat. These Dragons have both wings and arms/legs, with tactile “hands” and strong supple bodies that move with serpentine grace and speed. They are agile climbers, high speed runners over great distance and swim faster than anything below the waters surface…yet with all their might they can be as gentle as a butterfly and love caressing their family and being rubbed and caressed themselves..
Once settled with young the Elemental Matriarch may choose to drop her wings as a sign of commitment  to establishing her family…as Dragon’s have no natural predators, although they are vulnerable when they are young, there is no reason  to rely on their wings….in areas where food is always abundant, whole families may choose to live wingless, some have even been born without wings……

Sprites-

The Sprite is certainly the smallest of the dragons species, they grow between 50 grams and 500 gram…and they are adapted to all environments also…though some prefer the water while others enjoy the air...and flying like bats through the night sky… Being small they are very aware of potential predators…but  most carnivores will avoid sprites as they have the ability to create fire in the air  as they breathe and also emit a  horrendous gaseous substance that repels even the most hungry beast! Those who live in water create a vibration that acts as a repellent to all predators if they are confronted. Sprites often are welcome co-habitants with  birds, small mammals and fish, as the sprite’s offer extra protection for these small creatures. Sprites have even been known to choose human companionship and many have enjoyed sharing their family with a chosen human family…often grieving for many years after their humans have died from old age…some move on while others have been known to remain with their human families for generations…a great honor of love and respect for the humans, an honor passionately guarded.

Habitats!!

Air-

Winged like bats, or  birds or Angels these dragons have governed the skies for centuries, their silent wings transporting them across the world…they often colonise high up in the mountains, in caves or forests in remote wilderness….their songs are often mistaken for wind whistling through the hills and mountains..…..they are fun loving and enjoy chasing each other through the skies, whistling, chirping  and  screeching with delight!

Earth-

Solid ground dwelling creatures these dragons can have wings also, but do not rely on them, they have either arms only or arms and legs…they are tactile and fast and move their bodies with precision and strength. Earth Dragons are known to share pasture areas with elephants and bison…where at night they lay in the open air.  .or build nests like gorillas and chimpanzees, they even burrow like wombats, creating huge underground dens that also shelter smaller creatures in times of fire or storms. Although these Dragons too can fly and swim they prefer to spend most of their lives on the ground, be it desert or lush forest. When they enjoy each others company they rub up against each other, gently clean each other and rumble like thunder with pleasure…the earth moves as they roll and tumble together….even the elephant’s trumpet in approval..!

Water-

Sleek and shimmering these beautiful dragons sometimes called serpents because they may have no legs or arms play like seals within  Earth’s waters, both fresh and salty. They are the friends of both whales and frogs alike, their gentle nature endears them to all creatures and they are as invisible or visible as the moment demands…..they are able to breathe both the water and air and part of their internal filter system, unique to dragons, actually cleanses and energies the waters they inhabit purifying the water. Many of the water Dragons with long tendrils, like floating hair of many colours…..have been mistaken by humans as mermaids…their beauty likened to that of ancient goddesses. To see a water Dragon is to be energized and filled with exuberance and light, .to swim with them is a gift only few have enjoyed.
